For fourth time in month, pedestrian hit by train in Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - For the fourth time in a little over a month, a pedestrian was hit by a train in the Tucson area.

The Tucson Police Department confirmed the pedestrian was hit near Interstate 10 and Grant Road around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 24.

The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Union Pacific said the train was heading east when the accident happened and there were no injuries on the train.

Below is a list of pedestrian-train incidents in the Tucson area since 2021. There have been at least four in the last month alone.
