TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - We’re learning new information about the fire at a local fast-food restaurant on Thursday, May 11.

The Tucson Fire Department says crews responded to the Carl’s Jr. near Ajo and Park just before noon.

The initial call was for a fire that started in the hood system above the kitchen.

Tucson police officers helped evacuate staff and customers before the fire spread to the attic.

Fire crews eventually took a defensive approach to the fire after determining the roof was unstable.

Tucson Fire says a firefighter suffered an arm injury, and an employee was treated on scene for minor burns.
