UPDATE: Tucson restaurant destroyed by fire
TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - We’re learning new information about the fire at a local fast-food restaurant on Thursday, May 11.
The Tucson Fire Department says crews responded to the Carl’s Jr. near Ajo and Park just before noon.
The initial call was for a fire that started in the hood system above the kitchen.
Tucson police officers helped evacuate staff and customers before the fire spread to the attic.
Fire crews eventually took a defensive approach to the fire after determining the roof was unstable.
Tucson Fire says a firefighter suffered an arm injury, and an employee was treated on scene for minor burns.
The building is a total loss.
