Shelby Slaughter joined 13 News as a reporter, working to tell important stories in the Tucson sunshine. She joined the team in February 2022.
Before coming to Arizona, Shelby was a reporter and anchor at Gray TV's KYOU in Ottumwa, Iowa.
While in Iowa, she covered many meaningful stories that garnered state-wide attention. Shelby enjoyed interacting with the great people of Iowa and becoming a part of their wonderful community. She looks forward to that same adventure in Arizona, this time, without the freezing temperatures.
Shelby is a proud graduate of Arizona State, where she studied Broadcast Journalism and minored in Sociology. Outside of work, Shelby can often be found trying out new restaurants with her boyfriend, and finding new hiking trails with their dog. When she's home, she can be found scouring the tv for a new show to watch or reading the latest Colleen Hoover book.
