Cory Kowitz

Cory joined the 13 News Team in May 2023.

He was born and raised in Baltimore, MD (go Ravens and Orioles!) and went to school in Raleigh, NC at North Carolina State University where he earned his B.S. in Meteorology. While there, he acted as a Carolina Week’s meteorologist for four semesters, was the president of the NCSU Weather Broadcasting Club, Vice President of the Weather Balloon Soundings Club, and member of the school’s AMS chapter.

Cory has wanted to be a meteorologist since he was a kid. Living in the Mid-Atlantic, he fell in love with forecasting, and learning about all different types of weather ranging from severe, to tropical, to winter. Cory also enjoys fitness, hiking, music, and rooting for his favorite collegiate and professional sports teams.
