Sean Mahoney

Sean Mahoney joined 13 News as a Weekend Anchor in July of 2023.

Sean is super excited to bring the news to Old Pueblo and experience the West Coast lifestyle for the first time. Originally from Rockville, Maryland, Sean graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in General Business in 2021. (Go Terps!)

Prior to graduation, Sean spent time covering all aspects of Terps sports on local radio broadcasts and volunteering with the Big Ten Network. His senior year he worked with the local Capital News Service organization as a multimedia journalist and anchor.

Following graduation, Sean got his start in TV news as a Multimedia Journalist at WCIV ABC News Four in Charleston, South Carolina. Sean quickly moved up to Morning Reporter and also spent time filling in as the Weekend Anchor for WCIV.

When Sean is not reporting the news, you can find him playing basketball, enjoying delicious food from all cuisines, and cheering on his hometown team – The Baltimore Ravens.

Sean is ecstatic to dive into the culture and news world in Tucson and looks forward to hearing from viewers!
