Free salsa dancing lessons for veterans

TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) -When Bruce and Summer Montoya take the dance floor; it's hard to take your eyes of the salsa sensation.

The couple tours the country teaching Latin dance but Bruce wasn't born with this beat; he was taught by a marine during his 24 years of duty with the military.  Now the former Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant is now a Sergeant of Salsa.

Montoya says this Latin tradition has American roots. During the late nineteen twenties  people living in New York said a popular Latin musician played tunes with a "spiciness" to them and that's how the word "Salsa" was coined.

But now the salsa dance is gaining popularity all over the world and the Montoyas want to share the art with local veterans. Salsa relieves the tension of every day life, while helping you connect with your spouse or partner.

Throughout the month of November the Montoyas are offering FREE beginner salsa dancing classes to any member of the military.
