Cyclist seriously injured in hit-and-run crash gets ready to leave hospital
A Tucson cyclist who is recovering from serious injuries after a hit and run crash is going home from the hospital.
Samuel Abate will leave University Medical Center Tuesday, 17 days after a driver hit him while he was riding his bike on North Swan Road.
In an email, Sam's dad said "while going home presents a new set of challenges, he's very excited about getting home."
In the same email, Bill Abate says a grand jury has convened to consider the charges against the suspect.
Police arrested Abigail Allin several days after the crash after an auto glass shop reported they found blood and hair on glass that came from Allin's car.
