TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - A 75-year-old woman hit while crossing the street with her 10-year-old granddaughter died overnight.
Police say the two were walking across South 12th Avenue near Nebraska Street Wednesday evening when a car hit them.
Investigators tell us the girl broke her arm.
But her grandmother, Maria Castillo, died at the hospital.
The girl and her grandma were not in a crosswalk.
The wreck closed down that intersection for a few hours.
Speed and alcohol were not factors.
Police say the driver was determined not to be at fault for the accident.
