TUCSON, AZ (KOLD)- The 16th Annual Tucson Firefighter's Chili Cook-Off is here and it's happening Friday.

Every year more than 750 gallons of chili is served from at least 30 booths; each run by firefighters from all over Pima County.

Firefighters also decorate their booths and hope for to win bragging rights for the best chili.

The will be a wide variety of chili ranging from spicy to veggie chili.

And if you don't like chili, other food booths will be available, not to mention music from live local bands

The cost for a cup of chili is only $1 and all the proceeds go to the Tucson Firefighter's Adopt-A-Family Program.

Last year the cook-off raised more than $62,000 dollars that helped hundreds of Southern Arizona families during the holidays with gifts of food, clothing, shelter and holiday presents.

Last year the organization fed 1800 families, gave 350 gifts and visited sick children at UMC with a Ladder truck with gifts and Santa Claus on Christmas Day.

The Chili Cook-Off will be at El Presidio Park downtown from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
