ORO VALLEY, AZ (KOLD) - A 19-year-old woman was airlifted to a Tucson trauma center Sunday night after driving her SUV off the road at Lambert Lane and North Rancho Sonora Drive.
The woman was alert and conscious when she was airlifted, Oro Valley Police Lt. John Teachout said.
Teachout said there was no sign of driver impairment.
The accident happened around 7:45 p.m. as the woman drove east on Lambert Lane.
The intersection of Lambert and North Rancho Sonora Drive is across from West Lambert Lane Park. It's a quarter mile west of Lambert and La Canada Drive.
Golder Ranch Fire Capt. Will Seeley said the woman suffered facial and head injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt, he said.
Oro Valley Police are investigating.
