Rally tonight for gun regulations, and Sandy Hook remembrance

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Several groups in Tucsonare joining the nationwide push today for more gun regulations.

They are observing sixmonths since the shooting at Sandy Hook and making a call to local lawmakers inWashington D.C. These groups will meet this evening at the Little Chapel ofNations on the U of A campus.

The groups putting thison, Moms Demand Action and Organizing for Action, say this is part vigil, partpress conference.

They will be paying tributeto the 26 lives lost in Newtown, and showing gratitude to some of Arizona'selected lawmakers.

What they will be doing ismaking neckties using paper and string, with a message written on front thatreads 'I have gun sense.' These will be sent to representatives Grijalva andBarber, as well as Senator McCain, but not to Senator Jeff Flake, who voted noseveral weeks ago on gun control issues.

The groups are pushing forbackground checks for everybody and reducing magazine limits.

There are dozens ofsimilar rallies being held all across the country today, to mark the six monthssince the Sandy Hook shooting.

As for the local rally,everyone is invited to attend at 7 p.m. at the Little Chapel of All Nations atFirst Street and Highland on the U of A campus.
