Drexel Heights Fire responds to plane crash
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Saturday just after 11 a.m. Drexel Heights Fire District responded to a plane down at Ryan Airfield, according to a news release.
A piper plane had brake failure upon landing. As the pilot tried to control the plane, the wing of the plane clipped a sign and ruptured a fuel tank. The pilot was the only one onboard and did not suffer any injuries.
There was no fire but the fuel tank was leaking. Emergency responders were able to secure the fuel leak. Drexel Heights FD had an engine company squad truck and a battalion chief respond to the incident.
