TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Charges have been filed against a former Vail School District teacher accused of improper conduct with a student.

Tucson Municipal Court records show Erikka Barnes is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Tucson Police say they started investigating Barnes in early November after a male student at Andrada Polytechnic High School claimed that a female teacher had inappropriate contact with him.

The school web site listed Barnes as an English teacher.

District records show the governing board released Barnes from her contract late last month.
