Free workshop will help veterans use websites to find jobs, careers

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Kino Veterans' Workforce Center is hosting a free workshop on April 8, for veterans to help find them a job.

The workshop will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m.

Scheduled to present will be Michelle Simon, project coordinator for Pima County Library's Self Employment and Career Readiness Services, who will speak about LinkedIn.  While David Balderama, with AZ Dept. of Economic Security's Veteran Employment Services will speak about Arizona Job Connection.

The Kino Veterans' Workforce Center was first opened in 2012 to assist veterans in finding jobs, training, benefits and support services, as well as help employers hire veterans.

Career counseling and job search assistance

Help with resumes, interview and phone techniques

Skill and aptitude assessments

Computer labs and office equipment

Behavioral health services and recovery

Occupational skills training
