TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - These last few weeks have not been good to allergy sufferers in Southern Arizona.
One doctor at the Alvernon Allergy Clinic has said they have been busy all season long. When the winds pick up the clinic gets more calls from patients whose asthma and allergy symptoms start to get pretty bad.
The most common complaint according to doctors is eye irritation. So Dr. Makol, from the Alvernon Allergy Clinic recommends people stay indoors if they are bothered by the wind and dust.
For those just starting to get allergies, doctors say they can start with over-the-counter antihistamines and if that does not help, then they recommend going to see a doctor, especially for those who see the allergies occur year after year.
A trick doctors recommend allergy sufferers use is adding an air purifier to their home, especially when there is another windy day in Pima County.
