Tucson Police arrest suspect in deadly hit and run

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A suspect in the deadly hit and run has been found and arrested, according to Tucson Police PIO Sgt. Chris Widmer.

Tucson Police have found the driver, identified as Nicole Jacinto, 23. She is facing charges of second degree murder and felony hit and run. The victim was a 58 year old man.

The incident happened just before 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, near Oracle Road and Jacinto Street. According to Tucson Police a car hit a bicyclist, who had been traveling southbound on Oracle Road, the driver then allegedly drove away from the scene. A witness followed the car to an area near Grant and Silverbell where the car was abandoned, according to Tucson Police.

Tucson Police had been searching the area for the driver of the car. Roads in the area had been closed but have since been reopened.

According to Tucson Police alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
