House a 'total loss' after early morning fire near Cortaro

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Crews from Mountain Vista Fire District responded to a call about a fire around 8 a.m. on Thursday morning.
Firefighters arrived at the 8500 block of North Thornydale, near Cortaro Road to find a vacant home on fire.
According to the owner, the 900 square foot home was vacant at the time of the fire and has a history of vandalism, broken windows and paintball splatters on the door.
Drivers are advised to use caution when traveling in the area, due to emergency vehicles on the shoulder.
Mountain Vista Fire officials are reporting no injuries and that the utilities had been turned off to the home. Officials are reporting the home is a total loss.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
