Southbound I-19 reopens after several hours of clean up

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Travel on southbound I-19 has reopened, according to Arizona Department of Transportation officials.

An early morning fire, in a load of apples had closed travel on the interstate for several hours.

Crews from Rural/Metro Fire Department and Green Valley Fire responded to calls about the fire near the Sahuarita Road exit on the southbound side of I-19, around 5:14 a.m. Monday morning. According to Rural/Metro they arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire coming from the trailer section of the truck.

No injuries were involved in this incident. Officials have not released the cause of the fire.
