El Tour organizers need your help

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - El Tour de Tucson is happening this weekend, and organizers are still looking for some help.

So far the organization has around 2,000 volunteers, but they are saying they could use several hundred more and are calling on the public to volunteer for Bike Expo.

El Tour organizers say they have enough volunteers for race day, but could use the extra help on Thursday and Friday during the expo.

"Sometimes it's just being a door greater and telling people which direction to go and where they can go to find an expo map. Some times it might be just helping at an information booth which we have set up and then sometimes. And then you just may be handing out more maps for ride day or whatever," said Marilyn Hall, with Perimeter Cycling.

Those who volunteer for an eight-hour shift will get a free El Tour de Tucson shirt.
