Protect the Four Ps: People, Pets, Plants, and Pipes from the winter chill.  Bundle up children and yourself, plus make sure pets have a warm place to sleep overnight. Protect sensitive vegetation and wrap pipes to keep them from freezing.  Widespread freezing of pipes becomes a bigger threat when temperatures drop into the 20s overnight.  Most locations in the city will stick to the 30s, but some outlying areas may drop into the 20s.  Even with a low risk of freezing pipes, it is the time of year when it is a good idea to get prepared.

The last time the Tucson International Airport dipped to freezing was on January 6, 2014.  Today Tucson dipped to 33 degrees in the morning. Close but not quite the official first freeze of the season.
