Ben’s Bells to benefit from The Color Dash

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - There's still time to sign up for the second annual Tucson Color Dash on Saturday, January 17.

The Color Dash is a 5K fun run that raises money for local charities. It also involves throwing colored cornstarch at each other. Check out a video clip of the race

Organizers say 50 percent of the proceeds will benefit Ben's Bells, a local nonprofit dedicated to inspiring, educating, and motivating the community to practice kindness. 

It costs $40 to register as an individual. Children 5 and younger are free. The cost includes a white t-shirt, a race bib, a Color Dash tattoo, and a color packet (to toss at each other at the end of the run).

So far, 500 people have signed up. 

Click here to register online. Those interested in participating can also sign up in person the day of the event. Packet pick up is at 9:30 a.m. The 5K run starts at 11:30 a.m. at Reid Park in midtown. 

Participants do not have to run. They can walk. The race is not timed. 

This is the second annual Color Dash in Tucson.
