TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Prince Road are completely open again after being restricted for about six hours because of a fire in a tractor-trailer Tuesday morning.

According to the Tucson Fire Department, the fire was reported at about 4 a.m.

The fire was difficult to battle because it was deep-seated in the trailer carrying produce, making it difficult for water to penetrate. In addition, there are no hydrants on the freeway.

Four fire engines which hold 750 gallons of water were called to the scene, along with a 2,500-gallon water tender.

Crews removed material from the trailer and crews were extinguishing hot spots for about two hours.

No injuries were reported, but traffic on the interstate was backed up for hours.
