TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A man is back home after he was stranded without water while hiking at Picacho Peak State Park.

Avra Valley firefighters said the man, in his fifties, was dehydrated and stranded on one of the trails around 3:30 p.m.

Firefighters reached the man, who was visiting from out of state, after hiking about 45 minutes.

Firefighters helped him down the peak, though he did not want to be taken to the hospital.

AVFD reminds the public to always bring plenty of water on a hike.
