TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Ben's Bells revealed this morning at Lulu Walker Elementary that the 'kind chain' reached nine miles, during the Be Kind Challenge; nearly 500 students were at the assembly reveal.
The 'Be Kind Challenge' called on schools, businesses, and community members in Tucson and across the country to complete 1,000 acts of kindness during the 2014-2015 school year.
To participate, the organizations were asked to record those kind acts on bright green slips of paper, link them together to create a chain, take a picture, and then share their stories on social media using the #BeKindChallenge.
The goal of the project was to create a long enough “kind chain” that would wrap around Tucson. Doing so would visually show the amount kindness spread throughout our communities.
Ben's Bells says more than 52,000 people from 120 organizations from 29 cities, 11 states, and 2 countries participated in this project to wrap our communities in a literal chain of kindness.
