TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Arizona Department of Public safety seized more than 30 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in Marana before the holiday weekend.
A DPS highway patrol sergeant stopped a red SUV on I-10 near the Tangerine Road exit on Friday morning for a vehicle equipment violation.
The sergeant suspected possible suspicious activity and searched the SUV.
With the help of a DPS canine unit, 42 packages of meth were found. Its street value is an estimated $205,800, according to DPS.
33-year-old Noe Ricardo Garcia-Pinellas of Nogales, Sonora was booked in the Pima County Jail on charges of possession of a dangerous drug and transporting dangerous drugs for sale.
