TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The kids are out of school and the days are long. These are great reasons to consider taking a summer vacation, but where to go? If you're considering staying in Tucson, you've chosen well because a survey from WalletHub ranks the Old Pueblo as the 11th-best place for a staycation.
WalletHub took into consideration three factors in building its rankings of the 100 best staycation cities: Recreation activities, food and entertainment, and rest and relaxation.
Tucson scored a 22 in recreation, 16 for food and entertainment and 13 for rest and relaxation, placing behind Las Vegas and just missing the top 10.
Orlando, FL, home of Disney World, was the city deemed best for staycations. Scottsdale was the only Arizona city to place higher than Tucson, landing at No. 4.
One thing that may have helped Tucson is the amount of museums. Tucson ranked No. 4 on the amount of museums per 100,000 residents.
