TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A wildfire burning just across the New Mexico state line continues to grow. Investigators are now saying the fire was lightning caused; Border Patrol officers reported the fire began on June 2.

The latest update from the U.S. Forest Service has the Guadalupe Fire at 3,500 acres, burning uncontrolled in a remote area about 30 miles east of Douglas. There is zero percent containment.

There are now five Forest Service crews working on the wildfire, their main concern at the moment is keeping the fire from reaching a nearby ranch.
