TFD: fire at abandoned house near Bilby and Old Nogales Highway

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Tucson Fire Department responded to a house on fire in the 6200 block of South Morris Boulevard near Bilby and Old Nogales Highway.

According to TFD officials the first call came in around 5:45 a.m. on Monday, reporting smoke, but caller was not certain what was on fire.

Crews arrived on scene to find the house in flames and due to the intensity of the fire had to fight it from the outside only. Additional firefighters were called to the scene were able to keep the fire from spreading and contained it to the single area.

TFD officials reported no one was injured, and the house appeared to be abandoned.

The cause and origin of the fire are currently under investigation by the Tucson Fire Department.
