Police give all clear in bomb-threat investigation

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Police gave the all-clear in a bomb-threat investigation that forced street closures and evacuations in downtown Tucson on Tuesday, July 28.
Sgt. Pete Dugan, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, confirmed someone called at 10 a.m. to make a bomb threat against the State of Arizona Office Building, located at 400 West Congress Street.
An unattended backpack was investigated and destroyed by the Bomb Squad's robot. Bomb-sniffing K9 units were used to search the building.
The building was evacuated before police arrived.
Police closed Congress Street from I-10 to North Granada Avenue. It was reopened at 1 p.m. when police gave the all-clear.
