Nonprofit receives federal grant to help domestic violence victims

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona has received a large gr ant to continue its work in helping victims of domestic violence.
The Department of Justice announced it will give the organization $600,000 in gr ants to fund immigration legal advice, case evaluation and representation to victims who live in southern Arizona.
"This Justice Department gr ant will fund vital legal services to enhance the safety and economic security of the victims of domestic violence in Southern Arizona for a 36 month period." U.S. Attorney John Leonardo said in a news release
issued on Sept. 16.
The gr ant was made available by the Justice Department's Office on Violence Against Women.
