McCain calls for investigation into Tucson explosion

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Sen. John McCain has asked Defense Secretary Ashton Carter to investigate the death of a Tucson man, who was killed in an explosion when he cut into a military bomb.

McCain called it a matter of national security to explain how the bomb ended up in a civilian scrap yard.

Tucson police say 46-year-old Daniel Wright was killed in the explosion on Sept. 23 at Tucson Iron & Metal, 690 E. 36th St. Police have determined that the explosion happened when Wright cut into the bomb with a torch.
