TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Tucson City Court received a nearly $500,000 grant for three years.

It allows the group Emerge to have two advocates in the courts during domestic violence cases.

Emerge helps victims of domestic violence by giving them a place to stay, but it also advocates for those victims in court.

Once the victims are done with court, they can come down and meet with the folks here at Emerge to get the help they need.

This is the second time Tucson City Court was awarded the grant.

Over the first three years the grant helped the court provide services for more than 1,400 victims.
