Man severely burned by vehicle fire at east-side home

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A Tucson man was injured in a vehicle fire at an east-side home on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

Tucson Fire Department crews were called to a house in the 8900 block of E. Calle Pasto, near Speedway and Camino Seco, for a report of a car fire that was spreading to a house.

One man was taken to the hospital with "very severe" burns, according to Barrett Baker of TFD.

Baker said 50 percent of his body is burned. A cat that was in the home died.

Crews are now investigating the cause of the fire.

The pickup truck was fully engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to keep the fire contained to the garage, but there is smoke damage.
