Authorities: Man shot in midtown near El Con mall

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Authorities are investigating after a man was found shot Friday afternoon in midtown, just two blocks away from the El Con mall.

Pete Dugan, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said the man was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the victim was conscious when they arrived, but he unable to give them any information and the suspect or suspects had already fled the area.

The incident happened near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Calle Chaparita.
