DOUGLAS, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Douglas Fire Department battled a garage fire Saturday night.

Crews received a call just after 6 p.m. for a structure fire on the 1100 block of 9th Street after a Douglas police officer called in a report of smoke coming from a building.

According to a release, two engines and three ambulances, with 12 personnel, responded to find a fire in a garage. The building was fully involved in fire with flames spreading to near-by utility poles.

Douglas Fire officials said it had the fire under control in less than 20 minutes, but crews remained on scene putting out hot spots for almost an hour. The property is currently vacant and the fire is under investigation.
