TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Authorities said they are looking for several suspects after a woman was shot in her midtown home on Friday, Jan. 8.
Sgt. Pete Dugan, spokesman for the Tucson Police Department, said three men wearing masks forced their way into a home in the 700 block of North 11th Avenue just after 2:30 p.m.
Dugan said the men demanded money and drugs from the woman, who was home alone.
The woman hid in a locked bedroom. The men couldn't open the door, and a shot was fired. The woman was struck and is being treated for a non-life-threatening injury.
The men left and stole other items from the house.
No suspect information or descriptions were immediately available, and no one is in custody.
According to police, this appears to be a targeted attack, not a random home invasion.
