Tucson News Now - Arizona Sen. Nancy Barto has introduced a bill to help Arizona consumers get the wine they want shipped directly to them, regardless of winery size or production amounts.
Right now 43 states have updated laws to facilitate wine purchases from any licensed, domestic winery.
According to a campaign called "Free the Grapes!" Arizona consumers are subject to some of the most restrictive wine shipment laws in the United States.
Sen. Barto has introduced Senate Bill 1381 allowing a person 21 years of age or older to receive up to 18 cases annually, per winery. According to a release from "Free the Grapes!", other states have found updating these laws provide tax revenues and do not hurt local wholesalers or retailers.
