ICYMI: The top Super Bowl 50 commercials
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers will face off in Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, and advertisers are filling up commercial slots fast.
According to Advertising Age, the cost for a 30-second commercial in this year's Super Bowl is $5 million.
That same spot would have cost just $40,000 during the first Super Bowl, meaning that ad could air 125 times for the same cost of one slot in this year's Super Bowl.
The total spent on commercials during Super Bowl 50? $377 million.
That's more than was spent on commercials in the Super Bowl in the '60s, '70s and '80s combined.
With such high costs for a 30-second slot, commercials this year have been highly anticipated.
Many advertisers have released their commercials on YouTube already.
