TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A vulnerable senior who went missing Saturday evening, April 16, was found safe a few hours later, according to the Tucson Police Department.
Police asked for public help just before 7 p.m. in locating Gloria Aguilar, 66, who has dementia and takes medicine daily. She had left her home in the 800 block of North Belvedere Avenue, near East Speedway and North Columbus boulevards.
By 11 p.m. a citizen had found her after she wandered to a home near East River and North Craycroft roads. The person called 911, and deputies from the Pima County Sheriff's Department responded, notified TPD, and arranged to transport her back to her home, where she was reunited with her family, according to a media release distributed by TPD spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Bay.
Aguilar has left her home before, but in those cases she was found within a few blocks of her house, Bay said.
