DEA agents arrest Nogales police officer in Tucson

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A Nogales police officer has been arrested in Tucson, according to a Nogales Police Department news release.

Drug Enforcement Administration agents arrested Danitza Hernandez on Wednesday, June 1, while she was off duty.

Hernandez was booked into the Pima County Jail by the Tucson Police Department. She faces two felony counts of illegal possession of narcotics and use of an electronic device during a drug transaction, according to the release.

Hernandez has been placed on administrative suspension pending further information from the DEA.

The Nogales Police Department is cooperating with the DEA in this investigation.
