PINAL COUNTY, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Saturday, June 11 is your lucky day if you are looking for a pet, as Pinal County Animal Control is hosting a pet adoption event in connection with the nationwide Just One Day campaign.

"Just One Day is a great way to raise awareness about the many dogs and cats that are in need of permanent homes," said Audra Michael, Director of Animal Care and Control, in a news release. "Animals have always been an important part of my life. I know well the great contribution their love makes to a family. I encourage everyone to join us for 'Just One Day' and give hundreds of homeless animals the chance of a new life.  We are very excited to see just how many lives will be saved!  If you can't adopt spread the word."

According to a recent release adoption fees for all dogs/puppies will be $11, and in addition to reduced fees there will also be a low-cost vaccination and license clinic from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Rabies vaccinations will be free with purchase of a county license. Without license purchase, rabies shots will be $9.

PCAC is also passing the savings on to those looking to adopt cats and kittens, their adoption fees will only be $10 for the rest of June.

The shelter is at capacity with 175 dogs and 44 cats looking to find loving families and good homes.
