TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Those who protect and serve have a new tool to keep people safe.

Adaptive Firearms Institute, a veteran-owned training operation in Tucson, is offering free training aimed at gun violence to active-duty military and law enforcement.

The goal of the training is to help military and law enforcement stay proficient and safe.

"We want all active duty military and law enforcement officers to know that we stand beside you," said Ryan Lovato, owner of Adaptive Firearms Institute.

The course will take place at the Pinal Air Park, and will utilize barricades, a driving track, flat ranges and long distance ranges.

Training can include firing in and out of vehicles, aircraft, through doors, glass and the proper weapon manipulation around them.

Instructors just started taking reservations for summer courses.
