TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Law enforcement leaders from several agencies in southern Arizona gathered at Tucson Police Department headquarters on Friday, July 8, to respond to Thursday's deadly attack in Dallas.
A peaceful rally was cut short by gunfire that killed five police officers. Seven other officers and two civilians were also injured.
TPD Acting Chief Ramon Bautsita said police remain committed to protecting the community.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said deputies have a dangerous job and they know it. Recent events just make that reality more apparent.
