Reid Park Zoo offering Pokemon GO Safari Nights

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Many fans have been catching Pokemon at Reid Park, but not quite like this.

This weekend Pokemon Go fans will get a chance to "catch'em all" at the Reid Park Zoo on both Saturday, July 23 and Sunday, July 24.  There will be trainers to help catch the Pokemon, a chance to meet other players and learn tips and tricks from Pokemon Go pros, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

While hunting there will be music, face painting, caricatures and much more.  According to the Reid Park Zoo site, every 30 minutes lures will be activated in the Pokemon Go app at several different locations in the zoo.

Admission is required to attend this event.  Prices are as follows:

  • $9 Adults
  • $7 Seniors
  • $5 Kids 2-14
  • Member discount: $2 off each Member

Do you cosplay as a Pokemon?  Come dressed as your character and get in for the zoo member price, even if you aren't a member.

Heroes & Villains and Tucson Comic-Con are partnering with Reid Park Zoo to make the evenings even more fun. There will be a chance for one lucky guest to win Tucson Comic-Con membership passes and a portable charging station.

Share the fun, tag your Pokémon screenshots on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with #reidparkzoo or @ReidParkZoo.

Play safe and remember these guidelines when searching for characters in the zoo:

  • DO NOT CROSS GUARDRAILS
  • DO NOT ENTER EXHIBITS OR RESTRICTED AREAS
  • PAY ATTENTION AND WATCH FOR OBSTACLES
  • BE COURTEOUS AND RESPECTFUL TO OTHER ZOO GUESTS
  • LISTEN TO STAFF INSTRUCTIONS
  • If you need assistance or have questions at the event, please speak with a Zoo Staff member.
