"Orantez and several accomplices pulled up to the victim's home with flashing red and blue lights as the victim was unloading his four small children," the PCAO said in a news release. "The men brandished firearms and displayed fake police badges."

The family was forced inside the home and held at gunpoint while the suspects ransacked the house.

The PCAO said the group threatened to kidnap one of the victims -- a 7-year-old girl -- and hold her hostage $25,000. The child was taken out of the home, but left near the back of the home when the suspects fled.

Orantez will be sentenced Oct. 8.
