TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Detectives are investigating an attempted bank robbery at the Wells Fargo on East 22nd Street and South Craycroft Road.
Sgt. Pete Dugan with the Tucson Police Department said police received a 911 call about a possible robbery attempt just before 8:30 a.m.
The manager of the bank told police that the incident happened when he showed up to open the bank.
He said he parked in the back and was entering through the back of the bank when a man came up to him with a gun and forced him inside.
Once they were inside, the manager told the suspect that he had to get other employees in order to open up the doors and vaults at the bank, because he couldn't do it himself.
When the manager went to the front of the bank, he bolted through the front door with the other employees.
The suspect however, bolted too.
Detectives are still investigating.
Anyone who knows any information about this case is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
