PIMA COUNTY, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Looking for your 'fur'ever friend?  Pima Animal Care Center is making it easy, by offering free pet adoptions beginning Labor Day weekend.

This adoption special includes all puppies and kittens at the main shelter (4000 N. Silverbell Road) and the four participating PetSmart stores.

Once again PACC is overcrowded and staff hopes that this special adoption event will help the situation.  This special event will continue through Sept. 11.

"We urge our community to please help and consider opening up their home to a pet in need," said Justin Gallick, PACC's director for community engagement, in a recent release.

All adopted pets will leave the shelter spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Plus, the new owners will receive a voucher for one free vet visit. The standard $17 licensing fee will apply to adult dogs.

Not able to adopt, but still want to help?  PACC offers a number of ways to help its shelter pets. The options vary from volunteering, to fostering, or making donations. Visit PACC's website to learn more.
