TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Chariot Pizza and Pub at Flowing Wells and Rodger has been serving that area for the last 15 years. This week two suspects tried to rob the restaurant.

"This is the first time something like this has ever happened," says owner, Charles Ryan.

Chariot Pizza closes at 10 p.m. and just before 11, Ryan says, two men walked in through back door. There were two people working, a manger and a driver washing dishes.

Surveillance video obtained by Tucson News Now shows the men walking in and pepper spraying the employee washing dishes. The robbers also forced him under a desk or sink.

The manger saw the suspects and tried to stop them from entering the bar area.

"There was a scuffle with his manager and the suspect and at some point the other suspect stabbed his manager 6 times," says Ryan.

The suspects found a safe and tried to get money, says Ryan, but they didn't get any money and took off.

The manger that was stabbed was released from the hospital Saturday morning.  Ryan did file a police report. He hopes someone can give the police a tip that can lead to an arrest.
