TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A man has been arrested in connection with a diamond heist at a store on Tucson's northwest side, authorities said.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department said Abel Mendoza Gutierrez, 46, was arrested Tuesday night, Oct. 18, on a charge of third-degree burglary.

According to the PCSD, Gutierrez broke into Trinity Diamonds and Fine Jewelry, 6070 N. Oracle Road, early in the morning on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Gutierrez used a rock to break the front door, cracked a safe and stole multiple items before leaving the scene, according to the PCSD. The total loss in damages and merchandise is over $11,000.
