Injury collision involving bicyclist closes SB Campbell at Grant

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Tucson police are at the scene of a serious injury accident involving a car and bicyclist at a midtown intersection.
Just before 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7 a man riding a bicycle was hit heading eastbound on Grant Road, according to the Tucson Police Department, he was in the crosswalk when he was hit by an SUV.
The man was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of serious, but not life threatening injuries.
The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with the police.
According to a tweet from Tucson Police Department Sgt. Kim Bay, the collision happened at the intersection of East Grant Road and North Campbell Avenue. Southbound Campbell remains closed to traffic.
Drivers should avoid the intersection. No word yet on when it will reopen.
